New blog
Posted on Feb 28, 2009 11:39 AM by jarro_2783Sourceforge has recently started hosting some web apps for projects. One of them is a wordpress blog. During the development of the game the developers will be posting their thoughts on designing a game engine so that others may be able to learn from our experience. The address of the blog is http://apps.sourceforge.net/wordpress/prjfreedom/. You can also get to it by following the hosted apps link on our project page.

The new system appears to be much faster, more reliable and a much better way of doing things. Congratulations sourceforge for a relatively smooth transition to a much better system.
If our website is doing anything that you think it shouldn't be then feel free to post on the forum to let us know and we will try our best to fix it.

Sourceforge Data Centre Migration
Posted on Aug 6, 2008 10:21 PM by jarro_2783Sourceforge have been migrating their data centre to their new location over the last couple of months. The migration of their web, shell and database servers is planned to start at 05:00 Pacific time on 2008-08-18. The main migration is expected to take about 8 hours. The database migration may take a few days. Expect some downtime at the planned migration time, but you should also expect that the database may or may not work for the next few days. This means that either the wiki or the forum won't work at all or we may lose some posts or data put on the wiki. We advise that no one posts anything for the few days after the migration until we confirm that the services are back up.
We will do a backup of our databases shortly before the migration too.

Windows package management
Posted on Feb 15, 2008 1:08 AM by jarro_2783Due to the large number of packages that developers will have to download, we have decided to program a windows package management system. Our plan is for it to be a general package management system like yum and apt, but to also be able to download all the packages which a specific project needs. So to download the packages for project freedom, you would simply supply it with the project freedom package list and it would download everything you need.
There is more info on the wiki page at http://wiki.freedomthegame.com/index.ph ... Management.

First demo released
Posted on Dec 29, 2007 4:07 AM by jarro_2783After technical difficulties, bugs, a blackout, a dead modem and borrowing a modem from a neighbour, the first demo has finally been released. It doesn't do much yet, but it demonstrates some of the engine's moddability, the input handling system and sounds.

New Site Up
Posted on Dec 5, 2007 10:24 AM by jarro_2783We have finally got our new site going!!!. If you are reading this from the home page you will be able to see that news posted on the forum will appear on the news page. I also worked out how to parse bbcode. It took a bit of hackery, but it works.
edit by michael : it appears HTML isn't properly working. We're going to keep working on this. Make it harder, better, faster, stronger.
